Windows 10 DNS Issues
On January 29th, Microsoft DNS service was impacted by a data corruption issue with their external DNS provider. Some users said that they cannot access the update service for their operating system and were getting the error message: “We couldn’t connect to the update service. We’ll try again later, or you can check now. If it still doesn’t work, make sure you’re connected to the Internet.” Microsoft claims the issue is fixed but it may take a while for the DNS servers to propagate. As of February 5th, some users are still claiming to have the same issues.
If you are still receiving this error and do not want to wait for Microsoft then you can manually change your DNS settings to a third-party server. I use Google for the most part which is 8.8.8.8.
